Arousals due to bruxismMy bruxism is linked to arousals throughout the night, according to two sleep studies that were done. During the night of one study, 20% of my sleep was in stage 1, 70.7 % was stage 2, 0.0% was stage 3, and 0.0% was in stage four, and REM had 9.4%. The arousals that caused me to stay in stage 1 and 2 were concurrent with my bruxing. Has this been documented anywhere else? Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do about it?
Re: Arousals due to bruxismyes this has happened to other patients with bruxism. there are medications for this as well as psychological therapy to help decrease the bruxism and thereby increase the amount of deep and rem sleep. you should discuss this with your physician and see a sleep specialist if necessary.
