teeth grinding

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Jan 15, 2002 9:03 pm

I notice my 5 year old daughter grinds her teeth while sleeping. The strange thing is that she only does it at the times when she rolls over or moves in her sleep, but does not appear to be having a nightmare or be stressed. Does this make sense?

grinding the teeth in sleep can happen in any stage of sleep. It is a common occurence but can cause trouble with the jaw and teeth. It is made worse by stress and poor sleep. Her physician should know about it as she may need a mouth guard or further evaluation into the cause.
