Finally, a diagnosis!I have spent the last 15 years trying to get help with my insomnia. I have had it with doctors telling me it’s a physicological problem. They all (and there have been many) want to send me to a therapist to treat my “depression.” So I finally did.

Re: Finally, a diagnosis!Sounds familiar. Yes, after diagnosis 4 1/2 years ago I've read all I can find. And I agree that all the stuff that should work, should work. However we are not just molecular or chemical machines. We have feelings, demands on our time and attention, disruptions. I've found the closest thing to what helps: retirement three months ago. Or, rather, in my case, a disability pension based on DSPS.
Now that there are few other demands, I use my light box on awakening, my dab of melatonin in the afternoon as a chronobiotic, my bigger dab (one half mg) melatonin one and a quarter hours before bedtime, my blue-blocking goggles the last 4 hours before bed and, for good measure, extra B12. And no naps. I didn't manage "no naps" until I retired. My sleep diaries now look almost normal (with a wake time of about 11 a.m. without an alarm clock) for days at a time. There are still very uneven periods, and the occasional awake-for-36-hours incidents. I think it's going the right direction now -- just give me a few more months. This comment won't look optimistic to those who want a quick solution! But it might be some validation for those who've really tried and not made much progress.
Re: Finally, a diagnosis!I take rozerem as well and your right it does not help with the sleep time however you should be noticing a more 'quality' sleep i.e. more stage 3 and 4 sleep (which you could probably get confirmed if you wanted to spend another grand for a second sleep study) which should help.
Your right though the time is unchanged and will likely stay unchanged until someone or something comes along that truly understands what is necessary to 'fix' our sleep clocks to a normal time. Note when I say 'fix' i'm not implying anything wrong with us but to fit into the box society has forced us into something has to change, if not us then the world and barring that a change of careers, location, friends etc... it's a debilitating disease (again only in the eyes of those that are not accepting of anything other than 'the box') that can limit us in what we are able to do.
