Re: living with dspsHi Robin,
First and far most "Dont give up" Im a Mom of a 15yr old. He has had a problem and what I did was educate myself and him about what we have to work with. I have been to every Dr. and talk with his school about start time adjustment. It has be extremely difficult BUT we have a better understanding of what we are to work with. Sometimes we can change things and sometimes we cant. When we cant we learn to work with it and compensate where needed. Sleeping pills DONOT work with DSPS but Melatonex (over the counter)does. It is helpful too along with sleep hygine (low light, low key)before bedtime target. Working second shift may also be an option for you? I mean your up anyway, right. Let people you know learn about this site and the issues you deal with. There is nothing more then people with DSPS want is but SLEEP. Its time you worked with it instead of against it. You'll be much happier and become more productive and feel good about it. Good Luck
