Oh My God...After years of being a square peg trying to fit into a round hole, I now see the light!
I have not been "professionally" diagnosed with "DSPS" yet as I have only just found it (on the Internet) but will say that there is NO doubt in my mind that's what I have. From all I have read (and I'm just getting started) this fits me like a glove and I have to say, it was rather like a religious experience finding it (or maybe I should say profoundly enlightening). Wow, where do I begin now? What kind of Doctor? Oh, I'm jumping ahead... (I'm just so excited to find others like me...LOL) A little about me: I'm in my 40's and have had this sleep problem since my early 20's. I think it all started when I was injured in the service? I was hit in the head (rather hard) with a piece of equipement while on training manuvers overseas. It knocked me out and gave me a detached retina. Not long after getting out of the hospital I had my first bout of "depression" (although I didn't know what it was then). Then the sleep problem started and progressively got worse over the years along with more increased bouts of depression Now I can't get to sleep till 5 or 6 (sometimes7) in the morning. Once asleep, I'm good to go and sleep like a rock. But trying to live a "normal" life on this schedule is tough! Anyway, just thought I would sign-up here and say "Hello" to everyone. I look forward to reading and interacting with you all! SleepGuy from Florida!
