serious problems with dsps and the navyfist off i am a 26 year old male. but i also am in the military (navy) and i have always been a night owl , but as of the last 4 months i have been have these symptoms to a tee. Now for the fun part. as of 3 am today i have just learned of dsps, and have found out that this syndrome is as old as i am. I have been in the navy for 8 years with a perfect military record but now with what i am facing by missing work and places i am supposed to be i am facing some serious trouble and am quite scared to tell the truth. but at least i now have a face to the beast that i am dealing with. i am worried that the navy is not going to believe that this is something serious cause if i am not asleep by 1000 then I'm not going to sleep. and no one can maintain that kind of scheduled for long. Has any body dealt with this problem in the military, and if so what should I do.

Re: serious problems with dsps and the navyI have, and they have given me ambien and that has made the problem worse. I now sleep for a stupid amount of hours and feel "dopey" all the time. I am going back to see if their is something eles they can do for me.
Re: serious problems with dsps and the navyso now I went to the doctor and she told me that there is no test she can perform to diagnosis DSPS and recommend me to the psychiatrist. who told me to keep a sleep diary, which i have been doing but this road is starting to become very stressful. not sure on what i am going to do.
