Insomnia

I was taking 25mg amitriptylene for about 25 years for nerve pain. Then I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and started using a c-pap mask. Due to the lack of saliva in my mouth and throat my sleep Dr. tapered me off the amitriptylene and I have not slept more than 2 hours at night since. I cannot fall asleep or go back to sleep after sleeping an hour or two, often none. That has been going on for 5 weeks now. I do not want to start taking sleeping pills. Can anyone help?
