3 hours of sleep at a time

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I am a 31 year old women about last ten years or so I have had odd sleeping hab. I can fall asleep immediately (in, no joke, 1 minute)at any time day or night. So falling asleep is not a problem me at all. My problem is staying asleep. After looking at website I think I have Chornic Insomnia. I sleep,at most, 3-4 hs at a time I can always fall right back to sleep immediately (1 min.) I do every single night. example I went to sleep last night at 9:30 pm. I woke up at 11:30, 1:30, 2:15, 3:30 4:30 each time I got up went back to sleep right away. At times is very annoying disruptive. My question is should I do?

That is a little unusual for insomnia. Most of the time with insomnia when someone wakes up they can't go back to sleep for a while and it is the staying awake that is the usual complaint. I would wonder about things that are waking you up such as periodic limb movement disorder, gastroesophageal reflux etc. I would recommend you see a sleep specialists to sort this out a bit. Do you have an uncomfortable sensation in your legs when you are laying down that is relieved by moving them? Do you snore? Are you tired durign the day?
