Back pain with insomniaI just had a sleep study last night to find cause chronic insomnia. I've been taking 150 mg Trazodone on off 15 yrs. In past year, I've had episodeslasting months where I wake up severe back pain is only relieved a heating pad or hot shower. I had shoulder surgery 2 months ago on side I normally sleep on have had to switch sides. In sleep study I think I woke up around 1am could not fall back to sleep because of back pain on my left side. So far all I know is my oxygen level stayed up I did have some episodes of sleep apnea did not get into a deep sleep. I also suffer from morning migraines a vestibular disorder eye tracking problems. Any thoughts on back pain has persisted a month now? Also, tech said I am first patient he has had where he couldn't find "bump" where skull spine meet to place electrode on. Do know a is called?
Re: Back pain with insomniaSorry for the late response. It is impossible to give a reason for you back pain over the internet, there are many causes and any cause of chronic pain can cause insomnia and sleep disruption. Diagnosis and treatment of the pain is the first step in treatment. The bump on the back of your head is called the inion.
