Insomnia for 5 years

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

's wrong taking Ambien everynight? I've basically been on it years now. I have primary insomnia I have been through it all. Nothing has helped Ambien. If I don't take it, I don't sleep n next day isn't worth living. If I take it, I sleep I enjoy my life. I have energy to live. isn't a good thing.

First of all, very sorry for the delay in answering your question. This is a question that is actively debated among the sleep community at the current time. The answer is not known. Some people argue that there is no harm and other people feel there may be potential long term, poorly defined harm. Ambien does not seem to posses a significant abuse potential. Most people favor other long term therapy for chronic insomnia such as behavioral. Ambien is only FDA approved for short term use.
