jet lag and insomniaI'm pretty sure I have a case of jet lag. I returned from Europe last Monday (10 days now), experienced dehydration, congestion, loss of concentration, especially insomnia (waking up at around 4 a.m. each morning -- i went from Paris back to NYC). I know I did a lot of wrong things in preparing my flight. How long can jet lag related insomnia last? I've been getting some better nights sleep in last few days, I had a bad one last night. Is stress a factor aggrivating it? I've been getting outside in sun getting some excercise. Is re anything else I could do to shake ?
Re: jet lag and insomniaOne can only shift by a couple by about 2 hours a day. So depending on your time zone difference it can take a few days. I would think you should be over it by now but there are exceptions. Did you have as much difficulty going to Europe. Usually people have more trouble going west to east and not east to west. There really isn't anything to do except give it some time. Exercise in the morning not at night. It sould resolve shortly, if not you may be suffering from other forms of insomnia and you might want to consult your physician if it doesn't resolve in a short while.
