good vibrationsHi, I've been reading alot about Narcolepsy. I have had SP always accompanied by HH since I was at least 7 years old. Officially it was 15 but I remember as far back as 7 episodes of paralysis while my face was planted in a pillow while trying to sleep and the feeling I was suffocating because I couldn't move my head. At 15 though, they came on with a vengeance. During the SP and HH I was always terrified and I didn't even understand why. Even later when I tried to come to terms with it, the absolute terror never left me. I would hallucinate right as I was trying to fall asleep, and it came in clusters. If I had one in the night, I would have 7 or 8 more before I could actually go to sleep. Some nights I didn't want to close my eyes. And I could usually tell the nights it was going to happen, similar to maybe the aura an epileptic might feel I suppose. It wasn't anything in particular that I would see, but just a feeling that I was about to have a bad night. They would happen every couple of weeks in clusters. I would see terrible things, dragons, demons, I would hear people whispering, growling, feel their hands trying to either pull me through the bed or strangle me. It was always terrifying. I couldn't scream, but I could breath harder, and I learned that if I could just manage to turn my head, it would snap me out of it. But there was always something else that accompanied my sleep that disturbed me that for some reason, no one has ever figured out, but a few people have experienced. I hope someone knows the answer. Occasionally, I can feel myself vibrating as I'm sleeping. I thought it was just me to feel it, but my spouse one night told me that I was vibrating, and he could hear a humming sound in the room, like an electrical charge, and that he thought it had come from me. They don't always happen during one of the SP/HH combos, in fact they happen quite often. And to be fair, I have not been diagnosed, with N, but do have the daytime sleepiness that hits and makes me think if I could just lay my head down, I would be out like a light. Is there anyone who has experienced these vibrations and perhaps knows what they are? I know I'm not crazy. Any explanations?
