MY husband has RBD

I have diagnosed my husband with RBD (Im a nurse its a bad habit) but from reading the other postings I am even more convinced that he has RBD. He cusses and yells at me in his sleep. He has broken out windows and has even tried to climb out of a 2nd storey window after breaking it. He has put holes in the wall and I have even awaken to him with his hand around my throat. But I also read that this is rarely linked to parkinsons and my husbands pinky finger twitches. Could anyone direct me on wh...Read the full article

How old is your husband? I am not a nurse but after reading all these posts I was convinced my son had RBD and also "diagnosed" him! He just had a sleep study done and they believe he does not have this disorder as the episodes don't occur during REM but during non-REM sleep. She claims she knows this simply by how much, if any memory he has of these events. I think during an RBD episode (don't quote me) the subject has no memory of the event. A sleep study is definitely the first step as he may have other issues that have manifested themselves this way. Unfortunately our overall experience left us feeling let down as there was no conclusive diagnosis...they simply told us to wait to see if he outgrows it in his early 20's! So, are they right....only time will tell. The main advice we got was to make sure his sleep environment was safe and that he had as consistent a sleep schedule as possible. Sleep deprivation also makes matters worse. good luck.
