Ever since my wife and I met she has told me of frequent occurences of ‘unusual and frightening’ behaviour during my sleep. At first, I honestly thought that maybe she had dreamed these things herself, but this was not the case!
Up until recently I thought I had gone mad! My brother and sister have always heard me talking in my sleep as a child (sometimes even in French!) and occasionally I have sleep-walked. Over the past few years, things have become much worse!

wow, am i ever so glad i found this site! my husband does the same things as you. for years we laughed about it, even recorded him a few times to prove how mean he gets in his sleep since he refused to believe us! he recently did a sleep study for apnea, but i warned the doctor to not get close if he started yelling in his sleep. well, during the study, my husband acted out a few times and the doctor called me today to tell me that the study had in fact confirmed everything i told him about my husbands behavior during his sleep. its amazing to me to have found this site and see im not the only one who deals with this. be thankful you have a patient and understanding wife! it took me a few years to learn to tolerate my husbands behavior. the first time he ever hit me in his sleep, it started a brawl. i couldnt believe that this man who didnt believe in hitting women had actually punched, kicked, and slapped me! he even went so far as to cuss me lower than dirt. it angered me so bad that he got a very rude awakening. i just couldnt believe he didnt remember hitting me and was wondering what deep end i had gone off for waking him up in nearly a fist fight. after a few years of listening to him scream at me and others in his sleep, i finally figured out he had a problem and it wasnt quite as funny as we originally thought. when he started screaming at our 11 year old one night and ordered her to "come here" and knocked the hell out of her for no apparent reason, i woke him and said ive had enough, its a problem that needed medical attention because if he ever hit one of our children in a dream again, he might not wake up! thank you for sharing your experience, it helped me to see that im not alone in the world with this problem!
