REM Sleep Behavior DisorderFor as long as I can remember I have had the symptoms associated with REM Sleep Behavior Disorder. Re: REM Sleep Behavior DisorderI'm a female, 48 years old and I've had REM Sleep Behavior Disorder since I was a little girl (my first episode was in grade six - 11 years old and to this day I still remember it). So first off, don't let anyone tell you being female and 24 is "unusual". I've been living with this my entire life.
So I used to hit, kick and punch my husband and when he'd complain in the morning I'd say, "But I was dreaming! I can't help it!" After one particularly difficult night he said to me, "If you EVER hit me, kick or punch me again while we're sleeping I'm going to slug you back!" He was MAD! Now understanding this is a man who is total pacifist so this was absolutely shocking to me and I knew he was really seriou. But you know what? It must have got through to my sub-conscious because that 15 years ago I've never touched him since. Of course I still jump out of bed, run around the house and act out my dreams, but I don't hurt him. So maybe you must need your fiance to get "stern" with you :) Good luck!
