My son had a smiliar incident (the first one ever) of punching someone during sleep. He has always had, what we thought were night terrors, but recently an episode turned violent and devasted him. He feels like he is going crazy and was distraught knowing he hurt his long time girlfriend. Besides the bed pillow, what other treatments have worked and have you learned anything about what causes this very scary condition?

A lack of dopamine to the spine during rem sleep (your most active stage of sleep) is what causes it.

How do you overcome this "lack of dopamine"? What has worked in your situation?
Thanks for your reply.
