Hypnogogic Hallucinations followed by RBD

Post a new topicby kayscott on Sun Feb 08, 2009 8:15 pm

I have experienced hynogogic hallucinations since I was a teenager. For some 35 years. (This is where you are paralyzed, like normal REM sleep, but you are not in REM. So you have wide-awake nightmares and are unable to move. Recently, in the last 3-4 years, I am experiencing the opposite. I am in REM sleep and am shouting and sometimes throwing myself out of bed as a result of my dream. Which usually hurts. I've learned that is called REM behavior disorder but not much else.

Is there anyone out there who has experienced both sleep disorders? In succession? I haven't had hynogogic hallucinations in at least 5 years.
