REM Behavior Disorder

I beleive that I am suffering from this malady as the following exists

I have had incidents of fighting in my sleep, the dreams i have are always about protecting my wife

or greeting someone in a happy manner(i.e. firm handshake or strong embrace)now my wife has
developed fear of me; which hurts me to my very core.

i have sought medical attention concerning this matter; but any advice would be appreciated
