Tricyclic created or predisposition?

Post a new topicby gemma.s on Sun Oct 19, 2008 3:20 am

Hi,
I don't know if I have RBD I'm trying to figure out the likelihood that I do.
A few years ago I was put on Zoloft, a tricyclic antidepressant, whilst on that medication I woke up a few times whilst acting out my dreams (once because I caused myself some serious pain by running headlong into a wall whilst trying to catch a dog in my dream). At the time I assumed the medication was creating the RBD but recently I have begun wondering if it just made a pre existing condition worse. I don't have a partner to tell me if I'm a nuisance to sleep with all I have to go on is daytime sleepiness, intolerance to changes in my sleep pattern and stiff, sore muslces in my legs and/or arms when I wake.
Does anyone know wether tricyclics worsen RBD or create it? Also does anyone with RBD wake with aching muscles in the morning?
