Can't Sleep Need Help

Post a new topicby visualb on Sat Mar 29, 2008 10:40 am

I am not a nurse but I work in a hospital, my hours are 8p to 4:30a which I have just started in the last year. Before that I worked 11p to 7:30a until I switched, for the last 19 years. I have been having a lot of problems sleeping for the past 3 or 4 years now. I have tried just about everything there is on the market. Unisom does not work anymore all it does is give me a headache. My doc has given me ambien cr, lunesta, and others and nothing seems to work. The weird thing is on my first day off or any day for that matter I could stay up for hours and not be tired. I am talking 24 or so hours. I am asking do any of you have the same problem and do you have any other suggestions. I am very frustrated, I am practically overdosing on the stuff just to fall asleep and staying asleep for more than 2 hours yeah what a joke. I run a fan 365 days a year to block out noise and my phone is off and no one rings my bell during the day so that is not the problem.
