Can GERD cause snoring and sleep apnea??My fiancee suffers from extreme GERD symptoms, and just starting taking Protonix 40 mg
He snores very loudly and occasionally holds his breath when he sleeps. The pulmonologist has suggested a sleep study, but I was wondering it the GERD could cause his snoring/apnea... what about a chronic cough?? Can GERD cause that too??
Re: Can GERD cause snoring and sleep apnea??GERD is a common symptom of sleep apnea and generally is not a cause. It can be a cause of chronic cough. A sleep study in a patient with GERD who snores loudly seems appropriate.
