clicking noises while sleeping

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Mar 11, 2002 5:53 pm

Hi - I am a 36 year old woman in good health. I don't smoke and I am not overweight. My problem is this - I make a very loud clicking sound while sleeping and I don't know what to do about it. I think it is a result of my tongue hitting my soft palete (sp?) and my ENT wants to correct it with a uvulectomy and possibly surgery for a deviated septum, but I am not convinced that this is the answer.....any insight would be appreciated as I have not been able to find much on this type of problem....thank you.

I am not sure what this is but you may want to consider having a sleep study done before going ahead with surgery. The sleep lab can monitor the noise and your breathing to see if the uvula and soft palate are part of the problem.
