head injury made my ability to sleep obstructed

I have been on halcion, restoril, etc for 10 years since my head injury. the sleep clinic at the university holspital said I had little or no REM sleep in 24 hours. They are scared to touch me because they could maske it worst. Is there an injection I can take at night to "Knock me out" so that my nightmare / insane existance can be resolved with a good night sleep ? I'm suicidal and no one knows what to do !
