Newly diagnosed with severe OSA

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jul 20, 2001 1:19 am

I have recently been diagnosed with Severe OSA and am confused about just how severe it really is. I did a sleep evaluation and found out that my oxygen level dropped to 73% and I stopped breathing 353 times for spans from 20 seconds to 58 seconds. I tried the CPAP and just could not use it. I started to have panic attacks. My doctor has also scheduled me for an Echocardiogram next week to see if I have an enlarged heart. I am also schedulted to see an Ears, Nose, and Throat Specialist in 3 weeks. I guess this has just happened really quickly. I am only 31 years old and don't quite understand what is happening to me. Can the enlarged heart be reversed? Can I be cured of OSA?
