SLEEP APNEA

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Aug 25, 2003 3:56 pm

MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN TO 2 CLINICS FOR SLEEP APNEA. HE HAS TRIED 2 DIFFERENT DEVISES FOR TREATMENT AND HAS NOT TOLERATED EITHER ONE WELL. THE DR. AT THE SLEEP LAB SENT US TO AN EAR, NOSE AND THROAT SPECIALIST AND BOTH DOCTORS AGREE HE HAS A LARGE UVULA AND SOFT PALLET. OF COURSE THEY ARE YELLING SURGERY. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SOME GOOD OUTCOMES OF THE SURGERY. I AM AWARE THERE IS ONLY A 50% CHANCE OF SUCCESS. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hi,
Just read you're posting. My Ear, Nose, throat specialist was not eager for surgury I was, I only had a tonsilectomy it has helped by like 60% but was exteremly painful for me. It has helped with infections alot of times tonsils cause obstuction because they are backed up with bacteria. Does your Husband have constant bacterial infections? Also it is really something to discuss seriously because not all bodies are created equal, as you know what might work for me might work the same for others. Best of luck.
