SSRD

Page A14 of 7/11/01 NY Times carries an ad for a Dr. Farhad Hakimi of NY for a "revolutionary new anti-snoring treatment called SSRD. ... non-invasive procedure that attacks the root cause of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. SSRD is not surgery. Essentially, it's a procedure to prevent the tongue from sliding backward." The ad claims an "over 90% success rate."

Has this procedure been covered in the medical literature? Anything known about its effectiveness?
