Waking up at 4-5AM with CPAP

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Aug 27, 2004 12:10 pm

I have been on CPAP for about 12 month. I have been compliant, but I seem to wake up every morning between 4-5AM and can't go back to sleep. Any suggestions?

I don't have SA, but my husband had the same thing happen, and the doctor told him that he was so used to running on so few hours of sleep that his body felt it didn't need to sleep anymore when he got more than that in "real sleep." He also said his body would get used to it, and it seems to have done so, causing him to rely on more normal amounts of sleep. Maybe that's what you're experiencing?
