Night shift worker

Post a new topicby Sleepless on Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:18 am

I work mostly nightshift, and normally get about 6 hours sleep in the day. After that I am awake but in a zombie state untill the next morning when I get home. I get 1 day a week off which is not much help as my body is already so confused that it doesnt know when to sleep anymore.

I am having trouble concentrating from around 4 -5 in the morning, as these shift carry on for 4 -5 days at a time, i start getting very aggressive and just want to be left alone and dont feel like doing anything except vegetate. I have not taken sleep medication as I dont like the way I feel when waking up. Anybody have any idea how I can stay asleep for at leat 8 hours without waking up ?

Before my shifts were even worse, everyday use to be a different shift, being morning, afternoon, or night. After having a meeting with management I finally manged to get at least the night shift without the yo yo effect. But I am still not sleeping !! I cant even get myself to take a nap, my mind goes allover the place and sleep is nowhere in sight.
