Possible sleepwalking?

Post a new topicby MusicFairy on Thu Nov 08, 2007 5:31 am

My 2 and half year old son Simon has gone from sleeping 10 or 11 hour nights and taking 2 hour naps in the afternoon, to having great difficulty falling asleep, having night terrors (we have just started a homepathic treatment) and I also suspect him of sleepwalking. I sometimes hear him getting up, crossing his room, trying repeatedly to open the door (its an old style handle but he has no difficulty in the day time) and starting to cry after a few unsuccesful attemps. Last night he joined his father on the sofa downstairs at about 3 in the mroning, but as Dad was asleep, we cant tell if he was awake or not...
How can we find out if it is sleepwalking? There have been no particular events in the family which could cause a trauma of some sort so I cant work out where this is stemming from...
I am exhausted, my 4 1/2 year old shares a room with his brother and is suffering also, and Simon himself is tired and cranky in the daytime because he is not getting enough sleep...
Any suggestions?
