What type of sleep disorder am I having?

Post a new topicby sergem on Thu Aug 07, 2008 7:32 am

Hello all.

I was just wondering what specific sleep disorder can you call having a dream and sometime in your dreaming you'd experience trying to exert some effort that would end up in waking up feeling somewhat exhausted? For what I know, it's normally referred to by most people as a "nightmare".

But what actually causes such disorder? The dream may not be bad, it could be anything but there will come a point in the dream where you'd actually feel some physical heaviness in your body, you wanted to move but can't, as if your muscles are stiffened and then you'd experience some subconscious shortness of breath. All along you're half awake but can't move, though your mind is aware that you must wake up.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
