All dream, no sleep!

Post a new topicby jocandwalt on Sat Oct 25, 2008 8:51 am

I feel like I dream all night, and get no rest! I usually remember most of my dreams on waking but forget them after about 15 minutes of being awake. Often the emotion of the dream stays with me all day. I must be getting some rest because I'm not tired all day. I feel that I would just like to have a good night sleep without dreaming! These aren't frightening dreams, or anxious ones, just constant. I can usually recall having more than 1 dream during the night, and sometimes I recognize during a dream that the image is from my previous dream, that it doesn't 'belong' in the current one. Sometimes I am aware that I am almost awake, but still dreaming. Short of taking any sleep drug, any ideas how I can have a QUIET night's sleep?
This is my first post, just had another dream-filled night!

I sometimes have those. They often occur on nights where I don't have a lot of time to unwind after work (I work evenings sometimes, till 11pm or 12pm). I think I really benifit from having time to unwind. Doing crosswords, listening to music, watching tv, playing games on the computer (solitare, whatever). Another thing that you don't want to do is do a wind-down activity for too long. Otherwise you might be dreaming about that all night (one night I dreamt I was doing a crossword, but it was really frustrating cause I couldn't read the clues and the black boxes kept changing and my answers didn't fit). I don't know if this helps you any, if you try it, but maybe try a few activites that you find somewhat mindless that will take your mind off the day and will relax you for a night of sleep. Good luck!
