I dont know what causes this, but shortly after I go to sleep, I sleep so deeply that I do not hear common noises like phones ringing or people talking in a room. I am on call for my job once a month and last night, I got called out and did not hear the phone ring. Needless to say, I cannot keep a job if this keeps up.

This has been going on for about 8 months, but it seems to be getting worse. 2 weeks ago, a neighbor shot his wife and then himself. Not only did I NOT hear the gunshots, but I did not hear the police ring my door bell, the ambulance, etc.

I am frequently alone at night and I worry that someone could break in and I would never hear them. Any one have any suggestions or comments? Thanks!!
