kicking in sleep and major lifestyle adjustments

Post a new topicby chicagopaul on Sun Mar 09, 2008 2:04 am

Sometimes it's soccer balls, sometimes it's kickboxing an assailant. They tell me this is a feature of disrupted REM sleep: Technicolor dreams that require physical involvement. With me it's legs, but I hear it can be various things. Getting on a CPAP machine for apnea 3 weeks ago hasn't made it disappear like I'd hoped; they said it was the body's way of jarring me -- "Breathe, for cryin' out loud!" -- during a minute or so of non-breathing, so I'd hoped that CPAP and kicking were mutually exclusive, but now I don't know... Let's hope (1) Clonazepam does some good and (2) I find a way to dampen the Darth Vader sound of breath thru CPAP tubing, because the combination screws up my sleep and my partner's... Anybody out there with a success story to share? One where everybody got used to the damn machine and/or Clonazepam turned out to be very effective (at a full dose, anyway, since the 1/2 my doc started me at may not cut it).... Please, I'm hungry for good news, and eager to share some of my own soon....Who's got stories to tell? Paul in Chicago
