Sleep Swearing

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:25 pm

Hi,
This is my first post here after stumbling across your site. My husband has had sleep problems off and on for years and I thought it was due to the stress of having worked in undercover narcotics for 16 years..when he would be on a big case we would have problems with this 'swearing' shouting out in his sleep. In addition to the talking/swearing his legs get going, while sleeping on his stomach he kicks them both up and down at the end of the bed, shaking the whole bed and waking me. He retired from that line of work 3 years ago. Guess what, the symptoms haven't gone away. And what makes it worse is he doesn't believe me when I tell him what he does. About 10 years ago he went to a sleep clinic and they determined he had apnea. He followed their instructions for normal sleep times, not eating late and avoiding stimulation/tv while in bed. Those things don't help now. It is getting to the point where I am going to fix up another room in the house to sleep in. He doesn't believe that it is interfering with my ability to get rest let alone his lack of sleep. I see the Period Limb Movement and will pursue that but anyone else experience the swearing?
Thanks in advance for any opinion or advise...
