Diagnosis


It is often a sleep partner who alerts the sleepwalker to his or her behavior. Some sleepwalkers sense that they may be walking at night, but aren't certain. In some cases, sleepwalkers claim that their suspicions were confirmed by the presence of mysterious bruises on their arms or legs that result from collision with furniture and walls.

An important thing to keep in mind with safety measures regarding sleepwalking is to block access to docks, esp. when visiting. A Boy Scout camp (Parsons) that I have attended used to have a cabin at the end of a lengthy dock that troops could spend the night in. The cabin was torn down after a sleepwalker drowned while staying there.
