Bed Alarms & Sleep Studies

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Feb 27, 2003 11:54 am

My doctor has suggested a bed alarm that will make a very loud noise if I get out of bed. We are still working on my insurance company to get them to pay for it. Has anyone else used one?

He also wants me to go to a sleep study, but there is no way I could do it. There is just no telling what I would say or do! I could make a pass at a dr, smack one upside the head or cuss them out.

I know I have to do something. I broke my arm, splitting the bone down the middle and then out, Another time I busted my ribs and got a pretty good knock on the head. I've been to the er 3 times in the last year alone! Two years ago I fell down a flight of stairs forever hurting my back(I know, a sleepwalker who bought a two-story house, duh!)

Some people have suggested soft restraints, and it may come to that. But, I would hate to have to wake up my husband to untie me every time I need to go to the bathroom.

I took Klonopin for years, no way I will take another benzo drug again. The side effects were awful as my body started to build up immunity.

Right now I'm on Ambien and Ultram(for restless legs)

If anyone knows of anything new for sleepwalking, alarms, restraints, drugs, etc., I would really appreciate it!
