Frequent Sleepwalker

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Apr 17, 2002 11:16 am

I am 28 yrs old and have been sleepwalking all my life. Usually, I just get up, walk around, and go back to bed, but I also have more serious incidents where I act out dreams (i.e., yanking my wife out of bed because I am dreaming something is about to crush us). Recently I jumped out of bed and bruished my shins(I landed on some furniture). I don't think my sleepwalking has to do with stress or lack of sleep because it is a regular occurence since childhood. My father was a sleepwalker, but he grew out of it. I guess I would just like some advice on where to start for treatment.

IF you are getting more violent with the sleep walking or it is worsening then an evaluation and treatment by a sleep specialist would be recommended. most people do grow out of it but it sounds like you are not.
