Preventative measures for Primary CaregiverMy fiance has, for as long as I've known him (nearly four years), sleepwalked at times when he is highly stressed. I have learnt that this is a particularly common trigger. He frequently acts out his dreams, which usually involve an (unidentified "bad") person either standing by our bed looking over us, or (more recently) sometimes standing on his side of the bed trying to see in the top of our open wardrobe. This person doesn't appear to actually do anything other than watch. This will spur my fiance to rise from bed, often dress in whatever clothes happen to be lying around on the floor or in the dirty-clothes hamper, and then usually he will walk to the loungeroom or the back door. We don't think that he has ever opened the door, gone outside, or injured himself in any way, he usually wakes up as he is looking out a window or the back sliding door, however it is disturbing both our sleep, and is somewhat irritating for him. My question is, other than trying to reduce stress and alcohol intake, is there anything I can do (as primary caregiver) to reduce these sessions? I also suspect that he suffers from a mild sort sleep apnea, although it has never bothered him enough to warrant serious concern.
