sleep walking injuries

Post a new topicby the gardener on Sat Jan 05, 2008 6:50 am

I used to sleep walk as a child. I am in my 40's now and recently I dreamt I was climbing over a fence into a field and woke as I hit the concrete of a yard below the first floor flat balcony I had actually climbed over. I luckily only fractured my feet and lower back but am terrified i may do it again in unfamiliar places. I was very stressed before I fell asleep and in a friends flat. I had had 3 glasses of wine and am pre menopausal - which has affected my sleep generally.
Can any one advise me? I have made the decision not to drink when upset or down anymore already.

I was just reading up on some of the main causes of sleepwalking and alcohol is one and stress is another. Glad you are ok. I read also that placing a bell on the front door helps. And just putting anything that might injure you away before bed.
