Sleepwalking Alcohol induced

Post a new topicby Guest on Tue Apr 16, 2002 11:44 am

Last week I sleptwalked twice after being out and having had alcohol. Both times I attempted to pull doors off of things (my sterio cabinet & a plastic sliding door). I am a little worried about this and I just want to know if I refrain from drinking alcohol is it less likely that this won't happen again? I also used to sleepwalk as a child, and I frequently talk in my sleep. My boyfriend also thinks that I am overreacting but is it normal to be shaken up after being told that you have done this?

Sleep deprivation, which can occur with alcohol ingestion, can precipitate sleep walking. So it would be best if you decreased alcohol consumption and increased the amount of sleep you get. Psychological stress can bring on sleep walking as well.
