SleepwalkingI have a 13 year old son, who never had a problem sleeping until around September. He wakes up every single night crying and yelling in his sleep. he only walked in his sleep a couple of times, but mostly the screaming and crying. One of us (his parents) has to lay with him to get him to go back to sleep. By morning he does not remember what he did or said. When he sleeps in our room with his dad he sleeps all night. I cannot get him to the neurologist until April 18, what can i do to help him sleep at night? I know it is not healthy to lay in his bed or sleep in our room. I am really concerned even tho the doctor says it should not be real serious. He bites his shirt to the point it is wet and he bites his hand. Please if there is anything i can do to help him sleep in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Re: Sleepwalkingwhen he has these episodes, does he respond to you ? Have you tried getting him to go back to sleep on his own? I am most concerned about seizures given the description of his biting his shirtand hand but other causes such as psychological stress and behaviour disorders could also be the cause. Did this start after september 11th and did he watch alot of the tv shows about those events?
