undiagnosed inner tremor like symptoms

Post a new topicby glahdent on Fri Oct 19, 2007 9:44 am

Hi everyone!
I am new here and wanted to ask if anyone has a clue to what these symptoms might indicate. I have a continual inner nervousness like internal tremor that doesn't want to stop. It sarted gradually and I noticed it just upon waking like a shaky nervous feeling, then it became more frequent. I notice that it effects my eyes also when it happens like my eyesight is shaking also, but externally no one would notice.
I thought it might be hypoglycemia because it does sometimes subside with a small meal but not always. Other symptoms I've noticed include swelling of my face and neck, redness of my eyes and poor vision. I sweat a lot and have notice I get chilled very easily. But I also require the temp to be about 70 degrees to not sweat at night. I experience a feeling sort of like dizziness to the point I think I might pass out a after eating a large meal. I urinate frequently and have diarrhea frequently. I've considered Graves disease, Diabetes, Adrenal tumor/cancer, Adrenal burnout, Parkensons, Hypothyroidism.
Does anyone have these symptoms or know what these might indicate. I've also tried a regiment of magnesium, calcium, selenium, zinc, and B-complex for my nervous system. These seemed to work for a time but not at this point. Please respond, Thank you

Interesting, I have some very similar tremors that no one seems to be able to diagnose. Perhaps we could somehow investigate this together, though my symptoms are not exactly the same. My tremors are generally in the early morning about 4am to 5am, just before being totally awake. My whole chest vibrates and at times my heart does some galloping of its own. Then I generally go into a temendous body sweat. At times I can stop the tremor by bearing down or changing position. My eyes are frequently very red.

I was at the Doctors the other day, and when I mentioned this she said it was muscle fatigue which may be part of Chronic Fatigue. I believe Chronic Fatigue is just a catch all when they don't know what is wrong with you.

I have some other medical problems which have been plaguing me for years, including Hashimotos Disease, which is hypothyroidism brought on by an autoimmune response. My autoimmune test came back high again, but I have just gotten over a virus and this seems to happen with this. I am tired much of the time, have head aches a lot, sore throat frequently, sometimes, afternoon low grade fevers.

All I know is that it is suddenly getting progressively worse and this bothers me. If you have learned anything since your post I would be very glad to hear about it.

Hi,

I am also new to this forum and experience the same types of symptoms you are decribing. I've always thought to myself that perhaps it's due to the carbon dioxide in our bodies, I don't know, not a good feeling though.

Hi, Just wanted to thank you for your response. I have learned a few things since I posted. First, the early morning tremors might be caused by overactive adrenal glands brought on by continued stress. Since our blood sugar is low in the morning due to fasting all night and the adrenals are activated by low blood sugar and also activated in the morning to wake us, this can cause overactive adrenals to produce too much cortisol which can cause stress induced tremors. The adrenal glands are activated to increase blood sugar levels after insulin has worn off after eating a meal. If they have been called upon too frequently over a long period of time because of stress (fight or flight response) or sugar spikes and dips due to refined sugars and/or meals that are too large they can become overactive producing too much cortisol resulting in tremors. I have been trying to eat small meals every 2-3 hours throughout the day with consistency to avoid this. I have also been experimenting by eating a small meal before retiring and keeping something next to the bed for the morning if I wake up feeling a tremor. Meat is good before bed time because it is metabolized slowly and doesn't cause blood sugar spikes which then result in blood sugar dips which cick in the adrenals. A breakfast bar in the morning next to your bed may help you because it should raise your blood sugar to help relax your adrenals if this is the cause of your tremors. I personally have noticed a difference in the tremors after having eaten something. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for people with adrenal issues. Tremors can also be caused by thyroid issues, tumors on the adrenal glands, and diabetes and conversely some thyroid problems and diabetes can be caused by adrenal issues. You may want to readjust your thyroid medication(s); they may be too low and may be the cause of your headaches. Your sweating may be a result of your thyroid problem and/or maybe high blood sugar. The high blood sugar levels can be a result of the overactive adrenals raising your blood sugar level too high. Try the meal before bed and snack at bed side and tell me if they help. If this is indeed adrenal related I am told it can take years to reverse, and of course, keeping your stress level down is also important.
